A Vision for Sustainable Development
The committee’s primary responsibility is to ensure the seamless execution of the Human Capital Development Law,
focusing on initiatives that promote education, skills acquisition, and economic empowerment.
Their mandate includes conducting thorough research, assessing community needs, and proposing strategic interventions
that will drive sustainable growth.
Upon the completion of their report and in line with the Enugu East Local Government Human Capital Development
Bye-Law, a Human Capital Development Trust Fund will be established. This fund will serve as a financial
backbone for implementing transformative programs aimed at equipping residents with the necessary tools for success.
Key Components of the Human Capital Development Program
- The Greater Tomorrow Scholarship Scheme – This initiative will provide financial assistance to students in
Enugu East LGA, ensuring that no child is deprived of quality education due to financial constraints. The scholarship scheme will
cover tuition fees, examination fees, and other academic-related expenses.
- The Skill Development Program – This component will focus on vocational training and skill acquisition to
empower the youth and unemployed individuals with industry-relevant skills. Beneficiaries will receive hands-on training in various
trades, entrepreneurship development, and mentorship opportunities to enable self-sufficiency and job creation.
The committee has a duty to ensure faireness and equity.
Equality for every child.
A Call for Collaboration
The success of this initiative depends on collaborative efforts from government agencies, private sector partners, and philanthropic
individuals. We invite stakeholders to support this noble cause by contributing to the Human Capital Development Trust
Fund. Through collective action, we can build a brighter future for the people of Enugu East and ensure that our youth have
access to the resources needed to thrive.
Conclusion
The inauguration of the Human Capital Development Committee marks a milestone in our quest for a prosperous and
self-reliant community. This initiative reflects our administration’s commitment to fostering an inclusive society where education and
skills development are prioritized.
We look forward to working closely with the committee members, stakeholders, and the entire Enugu East community to actualize
this vision.
